  • May 15, 2011 | PermaBlitz 1 – The Food Action Team organized a garden work party at a home in Wyncote, PA. We were amazed with how everyone worked together, so competently, to get SO much accomplished. In just a few hours, a grass lawn, as if by magic; was transformed into a wonderful garden–beautiful to the eyes, regenerative for the environment, and producing delicious nutritious food! The garden was designed by the owner and the team and was created using the no-till method of sheet mulching. We all had the benefit of sharing knowledge, ideas, work and fun! This activity was paired with a pre-event tour of a suburban edible landscape in Elkins Park. Participants were able to see permaculture principles in action and talk about regenerating healthy ecosystems in our communities.  More here.
